1 The Number 3 in the Sunnah The Number 3 in the Sunnah بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم This is part one of a two-part series for, enumerable Jewels of Guidance, which mentions different acts from the Quran and the Sunnah in number. These numbers show certain actions and belief which any Muslim can learn and act by. The number three in the Sunnah is divided into 2 parts. The 1 st part covers Iman, Law and good character. I ve divided it up to make it easy for the reader to learn and practice and memorize. Each hadith has 3 things the Muslim should either, do, believe or avoid, so for that reason I named it, The Number 3 in the Sunnah I pray that Allah accepts it from and that this series is resourceful for my family, brothers, and sisters around the World. 2 3 things that grant you Jannah ف ق ال : ي ا أ ب ا س ع يد ث لا ث ة م ن ق ال ه ن : د خ ل ال ج ن ة ق ل ت : م ا ه ن ي ا ر س ول الله ق ال : م ن ر ض ي ب الل ه ر ب ا و ب الا س لا م د ين ا و ب م ح م د ر س ولا The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told Abu Sa eed there are three things that if a person says them will enter Jannah.Abu Saeed asked what are they? He replied; say I pleased with Allah as my Lord. Islam as my religion, and Muhammad as my messenger.[1] 3 things that show Iman ع ن الن ب ي صلى الله عليه وسلم ق ال ث لا ث م ن ك ن ف يه و ج د ح لا و ة الا يم ان أ ن ي ك ون الل ه و ر س ول ه أ ح ب إ ل ي ه م م ا س و اه م ا, و أ ن ي ح ب ال م ر ء لا ي ح ب ه إ لا ل ل ه, و أ ن ي ك ر ه أ ن ي ع ود ف ي ال ك ف ر ك م ا ي ك ر ه أ ن ي ق ذ ف ف ي الن ار. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith: The one to whom Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anything else. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah s sake. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire. [2] 3 things that confirm faith

3 ق ال ر س ول الله ص ل ى الل ه ع ل ي ه و س ل م : ث لا ث إ ذ ا ك ن ف ي الر ج ل ف ه و ال م ن اف ق ال خ ال ص : إ ن ح د ث ك ذ ب و إ ن و ع د أ خ ل ف و إ ن اؤ ت م ن خ ان و م ن ك ان ت ف يه خ ص ل ة م ن ه ن ل م ي ز ل ي ع ن ي ف يه خ ص ل ة م ن.الن ف اق ح ت ى ي د ع ه ا Anyone who has these three traits is a hypocrite: 1: Whenever he speaks he lies 2: whenever he makes a promise he breaks it 3: Whenever he entrusted with something he proves treacherous.[3] 3 Things of Iman that prevent burning in Hell for eternity ق ال ر س ول الله ص ل ى الل ه ع ل ي ه و س ل م ث لا ث م ن ك ن ف يه ح ر م ع ل ى الن ار و ح ر م ت الن ار ع ل ي ه : إ يم ان ب الل ه و ح ب الله و أ ن ي ل ق ى ف ي الن ار ف ي ح ر ق أ ح ب إ ل ي ه م ن.أ ن ي ر ج ع ف ي ال ك ف ر The Messenger (ﷺ) said: Whoever has these three traits won t burn in Hell 1: Belief in Allah 2: Loves Allah 3: Being thrown into the fire and burnt is more beloved to him than to apostate.[4] ق ال ر س ول الل ه ص ل ى الل ه ع ل ي ه

4 ع ي ن الن ار : أ ع ي ن ه م ت ر ى لا و س ل م : ث لاث ة خ ش ي ة م ن ب ك ت و ع ي ن الل ه س ب يل ف ي ح ر س ت الل ه م ح ار م ع ن غ ض ت و ع ي ن الل ه The Messenger (ﷺ) said: There are three kinds of eyes that won t see the fire. 1: The ones that stand guard for Allah s path 2: The eyes that cry out of fear of Allah 3: The eyes that avoid looking at Allah s Prohibitions.[5] 3 Things Allah Loves & Hates for Muslims إ ن ق ال وسلم عليه الله صلى الل ه ر س ول أ ن ث لا ث ا ل ك م و ي س خ ط ث لا ث ا ل ك م ي ر ض ى الل ه ش ي ي ا ب ه ت ش ر ك وا و لا ت ع ب د وه أ ن ل ك م ي ر ض ى و أ ن ج م يع ا الل ه ب ح ب ل ت ع ت ص م وا و أ ن و ي س خ ط أ م ر ك م الل ه و لا ه م ن ت ن اص ح وا و ك ث ر ة ال م ال و إ ض اع ة و ق ال ق يل ل ك م. الس و ال The Messenger of Allah,[,[ﷺ said, Allah is pleased with three things from you, and He is angry with three things from you. He is pleased that you worship Him and do not associate anything with Him, and that you take hold of the rope of Allah all together, and that you give good counsel to the one to whom Allah gives command over you. He is angry with you for gossip, squandering property, and asking too many questions. [6] Law

5 When is a Muslim s blood lawful? ر س ول ق ال ي ح ل لا وسلم عليه الله صلى الل ه الل ه إ لا إ ل ه لا أ ن ي ش ه د م س ل م ام ر ئ د م الث ي ب ث لا ث ب ا ح د ى إ لا الل ه ر س ول و أ ن ي ل د ين ه و الت ار ك ب الن ف س و الن ف س الز ان. ل ل ج م اع ة ال م ف ار ق The Messenger of Allah :It is not permissible to take the life of a Muslim who bears testimony (to the fact that there is no god but Allah, and I am the Messenger of Allah, but in one of the three cases: the married adulterer, a life for life, and the deserter of his Din (Islam), abandoning the community.[7] When a person isn t responsible for his deeds ي ت ب ع وسلم عليه الله صلى الل ه ر س ول ق ال ف ي ر ج ع و ع م ل ه و م ال ه أ ه ل ه ث لا ث ة ال م ي ت ع م ل ه و اح د و ي ب ق ى و م ال ه أ ه ل ه اث ن ان. The Messenger of Allah said: The dead person is followed by three: His family, his wealth and his deeds. Then two of them come back: His family and his wealth, and there remain only his deeds. [8] Three kinds of Judges ال ق ض اة ق ال وسلم عليه الله صلى الن ب ي أ ن ال ج ن ة ف ي و ق اض الن ار ف ي ق اض ي ان ث لا ث ة

6 ف ي ف ذ اك ذ اك ف ع ل م ال ح ق ب غ ي ر ق ض ى ر ج ل الن اس ح ق وق ف ا ه ل ك ي ع ل م لا و ق اض الن ار ف ي ف ذ ل ك ب ال ح ق ق ض ى و ق اض الن ار ف ي ف ه و The Prophet (ﷺ) said:. ال ج ن ة The judges are three: Two judges that are in the Fire, and a judge that is in Paradise. A man who judges without the truth, and he knows that. This one is in the Fire. One who judges while not knowing, ruining the rights of the people. So he is in the Fire. A judge who judges with the truth, that is the one in Paradise. [9] Good Character ر س ول ق ال ق ال ث لا ث ة وسلم عليه الله صلى الل ه ال ق ي ام ة ي و م و ج ل ع ز الل ه ي ك ل م ه م لا و الا م ام ال م ز ه و و ال ع اي ل الز ان ي الش ي خ. ال ك ذ اب The Messenger of Allah said: There are three to whom Allah, it Mighty and Sublime, with not speak on the Day of Resurrection: An old man who commits adultery, a poor man who is arrogant, and an Imam who tells lies. [10] ث لا ث ا ر ب ي س ا ل ت وسلم عليه الله صلى ف ق ال س ا ل ت و اح د ة و م ن ع ن ي ث ن ت ي ن ف ا ع ط ان ي ف ا ع ط ان يه ا ب الس ن ة أ م ت ي ي ه ل ك لا أ ن ر ب ي ب ال غ ر ق أ م ت ي ي ه ل ك لا أ ن و س ا ل ت ه ب ا س ه م ي ج ع ل لا أ ن و س ا ل ت ه ف ا ع ط ان يه ا. ف م ن ع ن يه ا ب ي ن ه م The Messenger of Allah: I asked my Lord three things and He

7 has granted me two but has withheld one. I begged my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed because of famine and He granted me this. And I begged my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed by drowning (by deluge) and He granted me this. And I begged my Lord that there should be no bloodshed among the people of my Ummah, but He did not grant it.[11] 3 things you should accept if someone offers them to you ر س ول ق ال لا ث لا ث وسلم عليه الله صلى الل ه و الل ب ن و الد ه ن ال و س اي د ت ر د The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There are three that are not refused: Cushions, oils [Duhn (fragrance)], and milk. [12] 3 rights between Muslims ك ل ه ن ث لا ث : ق ال وسلم عليه الله صلى الن ب ي ع ن ال م ر يض ع ي اد ة : م س ل م ك ل ع ل ى ح ق ح م د إ ذ ا ال ع اط س و ت ش م يت ال ج ن از ة و ش ه ود و ج ل ع ز.الل ه The Messenger [ﷺ] said all three of these things are the rights of every Muslim. 1. Visit the sick 2. Follow his funeral prayer 3. Make dua after he praises Allah when sneezing.[13]
