Mother's Day is a day to honor and thank mothers, grandmothers, and just-like-mom women. Al Manar kindergarteners celebrated Mother s Day on Wednesday, March 21st. On this special day our children put many efforts to express love for their moms and show how much they appreciate their mom s love and care. Little hands worked hard to design a most beautiful card for the dearest person on Earth. Little mouths sang I love you, Mommy! song and uttered happy wishes sentences. And the heart beats went faster with excitement it s just for YOU, my dear Mom! Teachers made video clippings of children s performances and shared them on Class Dojo with the parents. Children went home with amazing hand-made cards that would surprise their moms and put a smile on their faces. And this is not the only way to make our moms feel happy! Children promised to listen to their moms, to help their moms as much as they can and make them feel proud of their kids with outstanding behavior and learning achievements. Educating for learning today Empowering Tomorrow Al-Manar International Kindergarten Go Green! 3 The green color is one of the most restful and relaxing colors for the human eye to view. It has a healing power and is usually associated with life, renewal, nature, and energy. On Thursday March 15th AMIK kindergarteners came to school dressed up in their favorite shades of green and brought with them green toys, fruit and vegetables. The event gave students an opportunity to extend their knowledge in various areas of learning. Children brushed up their vocabulary playing hunt green game. Green crocodile, green frog, green apple, and green grass who can tell more? Children shared green fruit and vegetables and teachers reminded them about healthy habits and importance of having greens in our everyday diet. They also discussed how to keep our planet healthy and worked out their own go green plans. Each section designed a green craft. Preschoolers worked on recycling and created a toilet roll tree craft. Educating for learning today Empowering Tomorrow Al-Manar International Kindergarten Observe, Discover and Explain Volcanoes 5 Experiment is a great way to spend time with students, have fun with them and teach them a thing or two about science in a practical way. Even if it goes a bit messy and dramatic like the volcano experiment that was done by KG2 section during week 26. It was a simple thing to do. Teachers prepared a model volcano from a plastic bottle and clay. Put some sodium bicarbonate in the bottle. Add red food coloring. Pour some vinegar and see it erupting! Since the baking soda is a base while the vinegar is an acid, the resulting reaction is the formation of carbonic acid that bubbles out of the bottle just like a fizzing volcano! KG2 students developed their hypothesis on the volcano and discussed the results. Just like in a true scientific experiment they made guesses on what they think might happen and recorded the finding of their experiment. Educating for learning today Empowering Tomorrow مراقبة وإكتشاف البركان اليوم تعليم.. وغدا تمكين طور الطالب مهاراتهم وناقشوا نتائج هذه التجربة وكما هو الحال في التجارب العلمية إستنتاج ما قد سيحدث وتسجيل نتائج التجربة وقد ساعدت المعل مات العلماء الصغار ب إستيعاب هذا المفهوم. و واوم ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ ـورو واوم وضوم ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ ـ و يعد البركان تجربة رائعة مع الطالب واإلستمتاع بها وتعريفهم على مفهومين في أسبوع واحد أال وهو األسبوع السادس والعشرين و حتى لوبدت بأن تجربة البركان مع صفوف التمهيدي الثاني فوضوية ومثيرة في آن واحد فلقد كان األمر بغاية البساطة إذ قامت المعل مات بتحضير نموذج عن ملون الطعام البركان من الزجاجات والصلصال ثم وضعوا كربونات الصوديوم في الزجاجة وأضافوا األحمر والخل بإنتظار ثوران البركان وبالفعل مزج المادتين مع بعضهما البعض أدى إلى نتيجة تشبه ثوران البركان. 6
