We are a registered charity organisation seeking financial help to maintain the establishment of our Masjid/ Islamic cultural community centre, charity no. 1075084. Regulated by the charity commission and accredited by the Law Society under the Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme. We are in desperate need to re-locate to another place because our masjid which is currently located under an apartment building will be demolished. The building is very old and located in a poverty based area in London, therefore, the government aims to demolish the old building and build new apartment buildings to improve the area. As you are aware, we are in a non muslim country. We do not receive any government funding and the only financial support we receive is from the local muslim community. The little money we receive from the local community is barely enough to pay for the monthly rent, water and electricity bills. As for paying wages for our teachers, it is a constant struggle which has caused many teachers, who for some months do not receive wages, to leave their teaching roles to become taxi drivers in London. With all that said, we are continuing to do our best to serve the muslim community and sustain the masjid and Madrasah. In a society where there is a lot of trials and tribulations, where teenagers have adopted terrorist views supporting ISIS, where a lot of young men and women have distanced themselves from the deen of Al-Islam and are having doubts about the existence of Allah azwajal, it is our duty to continue our Dawah and teach the correct understanding of Al-Islam based on the Quran and authentic sunnah. It is the lack of knowledge amongst the muslim youth that has caused them to adopt extremist ideologies. Therefore, it is our duty to teach them the correct knowledge of our religion. We are seeking your help because of our struggle to keep our Masjid and Madrasah running. We are the only Masjid in our area with a large community of Muslims. After seven years of performing the five daily prayers, Friday prayers and Eid prayers, it would be an extremely devastating outcome to close down the Masjid. Alhamdulilah we have an increasing number of students attending the madrasah after having the opportunity to start Arabic and Islamic studies classes taught by a graduate of the Islamic university of Al-Madinah. Likewise, we have a dramatic increase in the number of people attending the Friday prayer which has lead to a large number of people having to pray outside the masjid due to lack of space. Not enough space for Friday prayers. Not enough space for the number of students we have at our Madrasah, which has lead us to refuse any more students that we can bare. Our masjid facilities are very old and needs a bigger wudhoo area and toilets. We are also in need of financial support to provide the following: Iftar for the fasting local muslim community (We provide Iftar daily during Ramadan which costs 150 a day). Books for our Madrasah. To be able to pay our teachers their montly wages. To contribute towards paying the bills for our Masjid such as the electricity and water bills. To fund fun trips and activities for our children so that they can enjoy learning their religion. To contribute towards buying books and leaflets for non muslims and calling them to Islam. About our Madrasah Our Madrasah and community centre provides authentic Islamic education to children from ages 616 years old. The curriculum includes; memorisation and recitation of the holy quran with Tajweed, aqeedah, fiqh, tafsir and the Seerah of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Our Madrasah strives to: Educate all students in an environment where the Islamic traditions of learning, tarbeeyah, respect and community are promoted. Make our children happy, enthusiastic and motivated by making our Madrasah an enjoyable and fun place to be. We strive to continue recreational fun activities for our children such as trips, competitions, football tournaments and many more. Employ staff who are professional, experienced and supportive. Promote integration, this is reflected in the services we provide to children and adults of different ethnic backgrounds. At Madrasah Hawa, we will continue to develop our curriculum so it is creative, challenging and relevant. We also aim to continuously improve our facilities so that our children can have the best possible learning environment.
