Dua Nur (to be recited before Iftaar) This supplication brings about great صىل هللا عليه وآله وسلم merit. The Holy Prophet عليه recommended this dua to Imam Ali and said that Jibreel (as) came to me السالم and said," Whoever in the Holy Month of Ramadhan before iftaar recites this dua, Allah (swt) answers his prayer, accepts his prayer and fasting, grants his ten requirements, forgives his sins, removes his grief, makes his heart at ease, grants his wishes, makes his deeds to ascend upward with the deeds of Prophets and righteous saints and on the Day of Judgment brings him to His presence with his face illuminated like a
bright moon." Sayyid ibn Tawus and al-kaf`amiy have narrated the following supplication to be said at this time: mp3 الن ور الل ه م ر ب ال ع ظ ي م و ر ب ال ك ر س ي الر ف ي ع O Lord of the magnificent light, Lord of the highest heaven و ر ب ال ب ح ر ال م س ج و ر و ر ب الش ف ع ال ك ب ي Lord of the flowing seas, Lord of the great intercessor الن ور و ال ع ز ي ز و ر ب الت و ر اة و ا ل ن ي ل و الز ب و ر و ال ف ر ق ان ال ع ظ ي م Lord of the flowing seas, Lord of the great intercessor and brilliant light,
Lord of the Tawrat and Injil, and the grand Furqan (criterion). أ ن ت إ ل ه م ن ف الس م او ات و إ ل ه م ن ف ا ل ر ض- You are the only God of the heavens and the earth. ال إ ل ه ف ي ه م ا غ ي ك و أ ن ت م ل ك م ن ف الس م او ات و م ل ك م ن ف ا ل ر ض ال م ل ك ف ي ه م ا غ ي ك There is no other god save you. You are powerful over everything in the heavens and earth. There is no powerful save You. You are the owner of the heavens and earth. There is no owner save you.
أ س أ ل ك ب س ك ال ك ب ي و ن و ر و ج ه ك ال م ن ي و ب ل ك ك ال ق د ي I beseech you through your great name, your brilliant superior being, your ever existing kingdom ي ح ي ي ق ي و م ي ح ي ي ق ي و م ي ح ي ي ق ي و م O Ever living, O Self Subsisting, O Ever living, O self Subsisting. أ س أ ل ك ب س ك ال ذ ي أ ش ر ق ب ه ك ل ش ي ء I beseech you in thy name that illuminates everything و ب س ك ال ذ ي أ ش ر ق ت ب ه الس م او ات و
ا ل ر ض and by thy name that radiates in the heavens and earth, و ب س ك ال ذ ي ص ل ح ب ه ا ل و ل و ن و ي ص ل ح ا ل خ ر و ن ب ه thy name which sets the people of all times on the right path from the foremost to the last. ي ح ي ق ب ل ك ل ح ي و ي ح ي ب ع د ك ل ح ي O Ever Living who was there before anything else. O Ever Living who is ever existing when no life shall exist. أ ن ت ص ل ع ل ى إ ال و ي ح ي ال إ ل ه و م م د م م د آل
O Ever Living there is no god save You. Peace be upon Mohammed and his progeny. و اغ ف ر ل ذ ن و ب و اج ع ل ل م ن أ م ر ي ي س ر ا و ف ر ج ا ق ر ي ب ا Forgive me my sins, make my affairs easy, and the reappearance near و ث ب ت ن ع ل ى د ي ن و ع ل ى م م د و آل م م د م م د و آل م م د س ن ة ع ل ي ه و ع ل ي ه م الس الم and keep us firm in the religion of Mohammed and family of Mohammed, on the guidance of Mohammed and family of Mohammed, on the sunnah of
Mohammed and his family, peace be upon him and his family. و اج ع ل ع م ل ي ف ال م ر ف و ع ال م ت ق ب ل Make my deeds lofty and accepted. و ه ب ل ك م ا و ه ب ت ل و ل ي ائ ك و أ ه ل ط اع ت ك Bestow upon me like you have granted your pious and obedient servants. ف إ ن م ؤ م ن ب ك و م ت و ك ل ع ل ي ك For surely I am a believer in you, trusting in you, م ن ي ب إ ل ي ك م ع م ص ي ي إ ل ي ك و ت م ع ل turning repentantly to you, to you is my journeys end.
ل ع ت م و و ل ه ل ي و و ل د ي ا ل ي ك ل ه Gather for me and for my family and my parents all good و ت ص ر ف ع ن و ع ن و ل د ي و أ ه ل ي الش ر ك ل ه and remove for me, my family and parents all evil. أ ن ت ا ل ن ان ال م ن ان ب د ي ع الس م او ات و ا ل ر ض You are the compassionate, the supporter and the originator of the heavens and the earth. ت ع ط ي ا ل ي م ن ت ش اء و ت ص ر ف ه ع م ن ت ش اء
ف ام ن ن ع ل ي ب ر ح ت ك Give me the best that you wish and protect me from Your Grace ي أ ر ح م الر ا ح ي. O Kind and compassionate.
