Dear Parents, Grade four Classroom Newsletter 3rd to 7th November,2019 This term, our fourth graders focuses on the transdisciplinary theme How the World Works with an inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment. Students are going further in their inquiry about the relationship between energy and life. Students are being knowledgeable by exploring concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance Each week students will acquire and apply one new approach to learning within their learning; this week students will learn Communication Skills by listening, interpreting and speaking. (exchanging information) During Math inquiry, students will be learning how to use multiplication and division properties. They will also learn to identify factors and multiples.. Central idea: Transformation of electrical energy reduces human efforts and instills the need for conservation.. First MAP Growth Season/Introducing MAP Growth Dear Parent, During the week of 27th October - 7 November, your child will take a MAP Growth test from NWEA on a computer. We give students MAP Growth tests to determine their instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year (and from year to year) in Grammar. MAP Growth tests are unique in that they adapt to your child s level of learning. If your child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. This results in a detailed picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn whether it is on, above, or below their grade level. Students can try Practice Tests to become familiar with the types of questions and tools available in actual MAP Growth tests. Practice Test specifics: Available in any supported device and all supported browsers, except Internet Explorer We believe practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice make perfect.
