What Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine is and what it is used for The combination Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine is used to treat bacterial infections of the external ear (otitis externa). Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic used to treat superficial bacterial infections caused by bacteria susceptible to this medicine s action. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria causing your infection. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic. It numbs the pain by blocking the nerve signals in your body. It is used to treat pain and irritation caused by ear infection or injury. 2. What you need to know before you use Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine Do not use Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine If you re allergic to the active substance or any other component of this medicine. If you have a burst in your ear drum. Warnings and precautions Tell your doctor if you or your family have blood disorders (e.g. anemia) or bone marrow problems. Do not use this medicine longer than you have been told. A second infection may happen. Other medicines and Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking. Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine and other ear drops may interfere with each other. Consult with your doctor if you use other ear drops. Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Ask your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding Driving and using machines This medicine is not likely to affect your ability to drive and use any tools or machines. 3. How to take Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine Use as indicated by your doctor. This medicine is intended for adults, adolescents, and children aged 3 years and older. This product is for external use only. Use this medicine in the affected ear only. How much to use The usual dosing is 4 drops into affected ear(s) 4 times daily. Method of administration Wash your hands before using this medicine. You may bring the medicine to body temperature by holding it in your hands until it feels warm. Lie down or tilt your head so the infected ear is facing upwards. Open the ear canal by pulling your ear outward and downward. Instill drops in your canal without touching dropper your ear. Do not touch the dropper tip or place it directly in your ear. Keep the ear facing up for about 5 minutes. If you use more Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine than you should If you use Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine more than you should, a second infection may happen. If you know you have exceeded the recommended daily dose, contact your doctor, poison center or the hospital immediately. If you forgot to use Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not use 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. 4. Possible side effects Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash, hives, itching, red or swollen or blistered or peeling skin; wheezing, tightness in the chest or throat, trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking, unusual hoarseness, or swelling of the mouth, face lips, tongue, or throat. Tell your doctor if you experience unusual tiredness, weakness, bleeding or bruising more easily than normal. Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) temporary itching, burning or irritation of the ear
Other side effects: Rarely, prolonged use may lead to bone marrow damage and blood problems. 5. How to store Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine Unopened bottles should be stored in a refrigerator 35 F to 46 F (2 to 8 C). Do not freeze. Once opened, it should be stored at room temperature 68 to 77 F (20 to 25 C). This medicine should be protected from light. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Once the pack has been opened, the contents should be used within 1 month. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. النشرة الدوائية معلومات للمريض كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين % 5 قطرة لألذن ماذا في هذه النشرة ما هو كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين وما هو استخدامه ما تحتاج إلى معرفته قبل استخدام كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين كيف تأخذ كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين اآلثار الجانبية المحتملة كيفية تخزين كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين.1.2.3.4.5 1. ما هو كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين وما هو استخدامه يستخدم كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين لعالج حاالت عدوى األذن الخارجية. كلورامفينيكول مضاد حيوي ي ستعمل لعالج حاالت العدوى التى تسببها الجراثيم الحساسة للكلورامفينيكول. يعمل عن طريق وقف نمو هذه الجراثيم. بنزوكاين هو مخدر محلي. يخدر األلم عن طريق منع اإلشارات العصبية في جسمك. يتم استخدامه لعالج األلم الناتج عن التهاب األذن الخارجية أو اإلصابات. 2. ما تحتاج إلى معرفته قبل استخدام كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين ال تستخدم كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين إذا كان لديك حساسية من المواد الفعالة أو أي من المكونات األخرى لهذا الدواء. إذا كنت تعاني من ثقب في طبلة األذن. المحاذير واإلحتياطات خبر طبيبك إذا كنت أنت أو عائلتك تعاني من مشاكل في الدم )مثل فقر الدم( أو في نخاع العظام. ي حظر االستخدام لمدة أطول مما ذكرت التوجيهات. قد ينتج عنه عدوى ثانية. أدوية أخرى و كلورامفينيكول أخبر طبيبك عن جميع األدوية التي تتناولها. الكلورامفينيكول / أذن أخرى. بنزوكاين وقطرات األذن األخرى قد تتداخل مع بعضها البعض. استشر طبيبك إذا كنت تستخدم قطرات الحمل والرضاعة اسألي طبيبك قبل تناول هذا الدواء إذا كنت حامال أو مرضعة.
القيادة واستخدام اآلالت غير ذات صلة. 3. كيفية استخدام كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين إن كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين مخصص لالستخدام فقط لدى البالغين والمراهقين واألطفال بعمر 3 سنوات و ما فوق. تناول هذا العقار حسبما أمر طبيبك. هذا المستحضر لالستعمال الخارجي فقط. استخدم هذا الدواء في األذن المصابة فقط. كم تأخذ من هذا الدواء الجرعة المعتادة هي 4 قطرات في األذن المصابة 4 مرات يومي ا. كيفية االستخدام اغسل يديك قبل استخدام هذا الدواء. بإمكانك أن تجعل هذا العقار بدرجة حرارة الجسم عن طريق وضعه بيديك إلى أن تشعر أنه أصبح دافئ ا. ارقد على جانبك بحيث تكون األذن المصابة إلى أعلى. اسحب األذن الخارجية إلى الخارج وإلى أعلى. ضع قطرات في األذن واحرص على أال تالمس القطارة األذن. ال تلمس طرف القطارة أو تضعه مباشرة في أذنك. ابق مستلقيا على جانبك لمدة 5 دقائق. استخدم هذا الدواء في األذن المصابة فقط. ال تشارك هذا الدواء مع شخص آخر حتى لو كان لديهم نفس األعراض التي لديك. إذا كنت تستخدم كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين أكثر مما يجب اإلستعمال الطويل المدى قد يؤدي في بعض األحيان الى عدوى ثانية. إذا كنت تعلم أنك تجاوزت الجرعة اليومية الموصى بها فاتصل بطبيبك أو مركز السموم أو المستشفى على الفور. إذا نسيت استخدام كلورامفينيكول / بنزوكاين احصل على جرعة بدال من الجرعة التي فاتتك فور تذكرك. إذا اقترب موعد الجرعة التالية فتخط الجرعة الفائتة وارجع لمواعيدك العادية. ال تأخذ جرعة مضاعفة لتعويض الجرعات الفردية المنسية. 4. اآلثار الجانبية المحتملة توقف عن استخدام هذا المنتج واطلب العناية الطبية الفورية إذا أصبت بطفح جلدي حكة جلد أحمر أو متقرح أو مقشر ضيق في الصدر أو الحلق صعوبة في التنفس أو البلع أو التحدث بحة غير عادية أو انتفاخ الفم أو الوجه أو الشفتين أو اللسان أو الحلق. التردد الذي تحدث به هذه اآلثار الجانبية غير معروف. أعراض جانبية شائعة )قد تصيب ما يصل إلى 1 من كل 11 أشخاص(: حكة أو حرق مؤقت في األذن في حاالت نادرة قد يؤدي االستخدام المطول لتغييرات أساسية ال تقويمية في نخاع العظام.
