What Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Dill seed oil, Caraway seed oil is and what is used for This medicine is an antacid and antiflatulent. It is used to relieve griping pain or waves of severe abdominal pain (infant colic) in babies due to trapped air in the tummy. It can be given to babies from 1 to 12 months. Dill owes its action to its ability to inhibit the growth of several bacteria (staphylococcus, streptococcus, pseudomonas and Escheria coli. This effect suggests that it might help prevent gastrointestinal illness-infectious diarrhea caused by these same microorganisms. Traditional herbalists use this herb for its anti-foaming action that helps break up gas bubbles. Caraway belongs to a class of herbs called carminatives - plants that are helpful in easing gastrointestinal discomfort, including gas. The essential oils derived from this group of plants help alleviate bowel spasm. 2. What you need to know before you take Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Dill seed oil, Caraway seed oil Do not take Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Dill seed oil, Caraway seed oil if: The baby is allergic to any of the ingredients The baby has kidney problems The baby is less than one month old Warnings and precautions Use with caution: If the baby has an inherited intolerance to some sugars. This product contains hydroxybenzoate derivatives which may cause some allergic reactions.

How to take Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Dill seed oil, Caraway seed oil 1-6 months old children: one 5ml spoonful 6-12 months old children: two 5 ml spoonsful Give during or after a feed Do not use more than 6 times in 24 hours Contact your doctor if symptoms persist If you forget to take Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Dill seed oil, Caraway seed oil Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is too close to the next dose, skip it. Do not take two doses at the same time. 4. Possible side effects Like all medicines, this can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The side effects below may happen with this medicine. No side effects have been reported following use of this product. Should your baby experience any form of reaction, stop using this product immediately and report it to your doctor or pharmacist who will advise you of the necessary action to take. In case of overdose:
Symptoms following overdose are rare and are generally due to the effects of sodium hydrogen carbonate. These may include diarrhoea, metabolic alkalosis and hypernatraemia. In the event of severe overdosing, medical advice should be sought immediately. Symptoms of hypernatraemia may include drowsiness and irritability, pyrexia and tachypnoea. In more severe instances of acute sodium overload, signs of dehydration and convulsions may occur. 5.
